Ping G10 Fairway Wood with Graphite Shaft:
The Ping G10 Fairway Woods are engineered with a crown that directly intersects the sole to create a low profile head that combines with a long, shallow face for improved performance from all types of lies.
The intersection of the crown and sole results in a skirt-less design which allowed Ping engineers to reposition discretionary weight from the crown, face and hosel for a lower CG (center of gravity) location. An internal weight pad creates the low CG location and provides higher ball velocity and reduced spin.

The Ping G10 Fairway Woods are engineered with a crown that intersects the sole to create a low profile head that combines with a shallow face for improved performance from all types of lies. The intersection of the crown and sole results in a skirt-less design which allowed PING engineers to reposition mass for a lower center of gravity location. The low center of gravity (CG) is achieved by positioning a large weight pad on the sole. The weight pad is formed from discretionary weight repositioned from the crown, face and hosel. The location of the CG provides higher ball velocity and reduced spin. The Ping G10 fairway woods have a shallow face that is longer heel to toe to increase the effective hitting area for added forgiveness and consistency. Its low lead edge and bounce angle effectively lower the center of gravity which produces increased energy transfer and makes getting under the ball easier. |
Ping's fairway woods have come a long way since the early days and we think the Ping G10 fairways are the best looking design so far. It's much more classic in shape but the design hides a very low centre of gravity which will get the ball up in the air very easily. It is quite a shallow face but the width gives you lots of forgiveness and it sits beautifully behind the ball. The 3-wood is very good, but for some reason is not as easy to hit as the 4 or 5 wood and in our tests we managed to get the higher number clubs to go almost as far. This is because of the low centre of gravity getting the ball higher with less spin, so Ping have actually put a 3 wood shaft in their G10 4 wood as standard so try out both versions before you decide.
